Our areas are arranged in order to encourage children’s choice with all resources stored at their level within easy reach of little hands. This encourages the children to be independent with their choices, increases their confidence and allows them to take ownership of those choices.
The open plan play area is sectioned into themed areas to encourage continuous provision based on the training given to us by the Flying Start advisory team who are available to guide and support us, regularly taking part in our sessions. We aim to provide as many real life experiences as possible that will help to encourage development of social skills, self-care, speech and language, physical and manipulative skills with the child being central to the planning of activity ideas. Staff observes the children at play and listen to what their interests are while taking note of any next steps for learning that the children have which are then addressed within the activity planner.
