First Steps

First steps into Crown House

Once you have decided to place your child within the nursery our highly skilled team will aid you in the transition. At Crown House we respect that all children regardless of race and culture are given the opportunity to gain admission to the nursery. We also are able to cater for children with additional needs as long as the nursery can fully meet the needs of the child. We have an additional needs worker on site that has attended various training courses and will assist the child whilst being introduced to the nursery setting and during their time with us.

To secure a place we ask for a £50 booking fee to cover all administration costs and to secure a placement. This will also cover 3 hours of settling in just before your little one starts at the nursery. However should a place not be available you will be placed on a waiting list.

Once you have reserved your child’s space you will be invited in to complete your child’s registration forms. During this time staff will request information about you and your child so that we can best cater for their every needs. You will also receive our welcome booklet where you will be able to view all our policies and procedures.

Settling in

We aim to ensure that each child’s introduction to nursery is as stress free as possible. Here at Crown House we want children to feel safe and happy within our setting as possible. We also want you as parents to have confidence that your child is comfortable within their new surroundings. Each child will be assigned a key person that will assist with the transition into nursery.

We recognize that each child is unique and that all children will settle at their own pace and therefore we will never rush this process. Our settling in sessions can be flexible and adaptable to suit your child’s needs, so if you feel your child needs further settling in sessions we will support you in this process.
